Four of the top six teams in the world face off in round-robin play.

The USWNT are the defending Women’s World Cup champions and ranked number one in the world. Germany is hot on their heals at number two (and the reigning Olympic champions), England third and France sixth. No other tournament besides the WC features such a collection of top teams and players than the She Believes Cup.

Schedule:

Thursday, March 1: WNT vs. Germany, 7pm ET on ESPN2 (Columbus, OH)

Sunday, March 4: WNT vs. France, 12pm ET on ESPN2 (Harrison, NJ)

Wednesday, March 7: WNT vs. England, 7pm ET on ESPNews (Orlando, FL)

A roster of veteran and up-and-comers

Sixteen of the players named were on last year’s SheBelieves Cup roster. Twelve U.S. players will be participating in their third SheBelieves Cup. 21 of 23 feature in the National Women’s Professional League (Morgan Brian plays in Europe and Tierna Davidson is non-league). Sofia Huerta and Andi Sullivan feature on their first tournament roster. Savannah McCaskill and defender Davidson both make their first tournament roster after earning first caps against Denmark in San Diego this past January.

Winner, winner chicken dinner.

The USWNT won the inaugural edition of the tournament, but finished fourth as France took the title last year.

The tournament format will be the same as the first two years. The winner will be based on total points (three for a win, one for a draw), with the first tie-breaker being overall goal difference, followed by goals scored, then head-to-head result and lastly, FIFA ranking if necessary.

Practice makes perfect

This fall the USWNT will enter into qualification for the 2019 Women’s World Cup in France. Unlike the men’s process CONCACAF qualifying for the WNT is a group-stage then knockout tournament featuring the region’s top teams.

There’s nothing like playing some of Europe’s best to prepare for fall’s regional showdown.

We could have a sneak preview of the qualifying final too as the WNT faces Mexico twice in April in Houston and Jacksonville (click for AO tickets)

Wherever they go… we follow

There’s no doubt when the WNT plays the American Outlaws will be there. We’ve bee at every match for them since 2013, celebrated in the streets of Vancouver during the summer of 2015 and will be there during SheBelieves and beyond!
